THE CANADIANS PLEAD FOR DECLARATIONS THAT WOULD RESTORE THE USE OF THE BANK OF CANADA FOR THE BENEFIT OF CANADIANS AND REMOVE IT FROM THE CONTROL OF INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE ENTITIES WHOSE INTERESTS AND DIRECTIVES ARE PLACED ABOVE THE INTEREST OF CANADIANS AND THE PRIMACY OF THE CONSTITUTION OF CANADA

Canadian constitutional lawyer, Rocco Galati, on behalf of Canadians William Krehm, and Ann Emmett, and COMER (Committee for Monetary and Economic Reform) on December 12th, 2011 filed an action in Federal Court, to restore the use of the Bank of Canada to its original purpose, by exercising its public statutory duty and responsibility. That purpose includes making interest free loans to municipal/provincial/federal governments for "human capital" expenditures (education, health, other social services) and /or infrastructure expenditures.

The action also constitutionally challenges the government's fallacious accounting methods in its tabling of the budget by not calculating nor revealing the true and total revenues of the nation before transferring back "tax credits" to corporations and other taxpayers.

The Plaintiffs state that since 1974 there has been a gradual but sure slide into the reality that the Bank of Canada and Canada's monetary and financial policy are dictated by private foreign banks and financial interests contrary to the Bank of Canada Act.

The Plaintiffs state that the Bank of International Settlements (BIS), the Financial Stability Forum (FSF) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) were all created with the cognizant intent of keeping poorer nations in their place which has now expanded to all nations in that these financial institutions largely succeed in over-riding governments and constitutional orders in countries such as Canada over which they exert financial control.

The Plaintiffs state that the meetings of the BIS and Financial Stability Board (FSB) (successor of FSF), their minutes, their discussions and deliberations are secret and not available nor accountable to Parliament, the executive, nor the Canadian public notwithstanding that the Bank of Canada policies directly emanate from these meetings. These organizations are essentially private, foreign entities controlling Canada's banking system and socio-economic policies.

The Plaintiffs state that the defendants (officials) are unwittingly and /or wittingly, in varying degrees, knowledge and intent engaged in a conspiracy, along with the BIS, FSB, IMF to render impotent the Bank of Canada Act as well as Canadian sovereignty over financial, monetary, and socio-economic policy, and bypass the sovereign rule of Canada through its Parliament by means of banking and financial systems.

A press conference will be held on Wednesday, December 21st, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. to answer any questions the media may have of the Plaintiffs at: 637 College Street, Suite 203, Toronto, Ontario.

Sometimes I really despise people. While I have developed a truly venomous hatred for only a tiny (deserving) few in my life, I have a somewhat less intense general dislike of humanity on the whole. I live in a country full of new immigrants and by and large I like them (the immigrants that is) a lot more than the "natural-borns". Which isn't to say they are better people in any real sense just that they are more interesting, at least in the short term.
I am fed up with my species really. There is no other way to say it. Einstein once said "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe." Have to agree with Al on that one.
Let's look at some recent (or the results of) stupidity in the news lately.
1. Obama has approved exploration and drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.
2. Fukushima, might be contained in 30 years.
3. The Al Queda flag is flying in Libya.
4. Euro-zone bailouts.
5. Cops are shooting American servicemen in uniform at the occupy protests.
6. US troops now on the ground in Africa.
7. Executive bonuses have gone higher.
The only explanations for the above are a) stupidity b) psychopathy.
1.We will start at the top; the BP mess is still floating around killing most everything in its path and there are credible reports that the original Deepwater Horizon leak is not actually stopped. There are also reports that the sea floor in the gulf is now considered to be unstable and not safe for drilling.
2. These guys crack me up. Worst nuke accident in history (mark my words this is FAR worse than Chernobyl) "let's put a tent over it!" Out of sight out of mind - you go dudes. I used to think our politicians were lying scumbuckets but the Japanese have got us beat in that sphere too - who knew? What they really need to say is "Attention people of Japan! We're fucked. Clear out. Give Canada a call they might take you"
3. Aren't these the guys we have spent billions fighting in Afghanistan? Aren't they the ones who purportedly attacked the WTC 10 years ago? We just helped this bunch overthrow the govt of the country with the highest standard of living in Africa and murder its leader.
4. Again, too gutless to tell the truth. "Greece owes more than it can ever pay. Ireland too. Portugal too. Spain too. Italy could probably come up with the scratch but they wont so we're fucked. Clear out. Give Canada a call they might take you."
5. Memo to the cops. The marines are coming and they are mad at you.
6. Really America? Another military action? Why don't you just let Petraeus move into the Oval Office and be done with it. You can't actually pay for the wars you started ten years ago. I know the American upper classes don't give a shit about the common folks but hasn't it occurred to them that even the rich will start having to pay for this nonsense sooner or later?
7. People are actually rioting in the streets. ACTUALLY RIOTING IN THE STREETS These fuckwits sat in their boardrooms and said "Let's give ourselves some raises shall we?" I heard somewhere this week that BMW plants are running at 110% capacity to try to meet demand. Hey rich dudes we can't eat your Beemer but we can eat you. Slow roasted on a spit over bundles of credit default swaps and derivatives. Marinated in Ambre Topkapi (As the second most expensive cologne in the world, Topkapi contains Bergamot, grapefruit, pineapple, melon, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg ginger, and so much more!) Seasoned with sage too, I like sage.
The average person even if aware of the shit going down around him is too preoccupied with his video games, Cheez Doodlz and Dancing With The Sluts to care.
The occupy movement is hopeless, they really are. there are already rumblings about a world bank to keep the financial industry in check. Good grief! Just put a pistol to your heads now or better yet wait till Monday and the NYC cops will likely do it for you if they are approached in the right way.

The end is not near. The end is here. The graveyard of empires is about to erect a new tombstone, this time for the Exited States of Hysteria. Perhaps mausoleum is a more appropriate word. What with the new $800 million dollar fortress/embassy being built in Kabul. Iraq is a deepening morass with no end in sight.
Here are some quick figures.
Each US soldier in Afghanistan costs $1 million per annum. CIA employs 80,000 mercenaries there, cost unknown. The US spends an astonishing $20.2 billion alone annually air conditioning troop quarters in Afghanistan and Iraq. The war has cost 450 billion so far.
As far as the human cost goes, something like 1750 "allied" dead and 15000 wounded.
In Iraq, we are looking at $1.9 trillion (give or take a couple of billion) or $6300 per US citizen. Total US casualties? A staggering 4477 dead and 31912 wounded. These however, are official totals and the real numbers are almost certainly higher. After all if the government can't tell the public the truth about the Post-Office's budget how the hell can we expect them to be anywhere near accurate about something as sensitive as the number of service men and women sent to their deaths?
In the course of researching this post I discovered that there is no agency responsible for maintaining an accurate count of Iraqi civilian deaths but the best estimates have the total at about 1 455 590. Think about that for a moment. What better way to illustrate the fact that the Iraqis don't count than NOT TO COUNT THEM? The Iraqis don't count. The civilians don't count. The taxpayers don't count. YOU don't count.
The only entities that have any pull in Washington are the big defense contractors and the ones who finance them.
The Occupy Wall Street protesters, bless their little hearts, haven't got a clue or a prayer. Does anyone really believe that the Neros on Capitol Hill are going to let these figurative Christians affect any real change? They are fortunate so far in that they have not had their heads bashed in like so many seal pups in spring. There are signs that the movement has already been infiltrated and that is of course to be expected. The one thing the Exited States truly despises is a real populist movement of the people FOR the people.
The American people don't get it. They really don't. The elections are rigged, the table is tilted, as George Carlin used to say, its a big club and you ain't in it. The money has long since been stolen from them. NOW they are worried about Social Security. It is gone, has been for a while now, Clinton got it. They think they lost their freedoms when the Bush/Cheney cabal rammed through the obscene Patriot Act. Nope Lyndon Johnson began the destruction of the American form of democracy. Not that it ever got to take more than a few wobbly first steps in the first place.
Yeah, Nixon WAS a crook, but so where most of the rest of them. One big criminal gang running the country into the ground to line the pockets of dem bad mutha-fuckas The Harvard/Yale Crew. I should point out just to illustrate how useless partisan politics is that the only two presidents of the current era who were not among the absolute slime of humanity were one of each party. Can you guess? One crisp 44 cent dollar for the first reader to get it right.
Back to the protesters. I do admire the tenacity and the willingness to try to affect some real change but the time for a real genuine full-blown protest movement was around 1967 - hey wait a minute...
Even those opposed to the selling out of America sold-out. Hippies became yuppies bongs to beemers and there you have it. I'll miss America. It really is too bad that in the minds of most of the population, the USA's very raison d'etre was to oppose things. Anti-communism, war on drugs, war on terror blah blah blah. America needs to be FOR something. Something besides shopping. You can't define yourself by what you are opposed to any more than you can describe a cat by talking about what it isn't.
America is lost. the 1% have won. The so-called 99% who are occupying different cities of the USA and the around the world may save their own souls by chanting and waving placards but they cannot save the nation.

On this day in 1983, Soviet military officer Stanislav Petrov single-handedly averted a worldwide nuclear war when he chose to believe his intuition instead of the computer screen in front of him which indicated the US had launched a nuclear missile attack against the Soviet Union... (This remarkable incident proves one man can make a difference...for the whole world!)
Lieutenant Colonel Stanislav Petrov was the officer on duty at the Serpukhov-15 bunker near Moscow on September 26, 1983, a time when the Cold War was at a peak. Just three and a half weeks prior, the Soviets had shot down Korean Air Flight 007, killing all 269 people on board the Boeing 747. It was Lt. Col. Petrov's responsibility to observe the satellite early warning network and notify his superiors of any impending nuclear missile attack against the USSR. In the event of such an attack, the Soviet Union's strategy was to launch an immediate all-out nuclear counter-attack against the United States, as the doctrine of Mutual Assured Destruction required.
Just past midnight, at 00:40 hrs, the bunker's computers indicated that an American missile was heading toward the Soviet Union. Lt. Col. Petrov reasoned that a computer error had occurred, since the United States was not likely to launch just one missile if it were attacking the Soviet Union -- it would launch many simultaneously. Also, the satellite system's reliability had in the past been questioned, so he dismissed the warning as a false alarm, concluding that no missile had actually been launched by the United States.

However, a short time later the computers indicated that a second missile had been launched, followed by a third, a fourth and a fifth. Petrov still felt that the computer system was wrong, but there was no other source of information with which to confirm his suspicions. The Soviet Union's land radar was not capable of detecting missiles beyond the horizon, so by the time land radar could positively identify the threat, it would be too late.

Petrov's dilemma was this: if he was disregarding a real attack, then the Soviet Union would be devastated by nuclear weapons without any warning or chance to retaliate, and he would have failed at his duty. On the other hand, if he were to report a non-existent attack, his superiors might launch an equally catastrophic assault against their enemies. In either case, millions of people would die.

Understanding that if he were wrong, nuclear missiles would soon be raining down on the Soviet Union, Petrov decided to trust his intuition and declare the system's indications a false alarm. After a short while, it was apparent that his instincts were right. There were no approaching missiles. The crisis put him under immense pressure and stress, yet Petrov's judgement had been sound. A full-scale nuclear war had been averted.

This is surreal.
First there is the mission to "kill" Osama Bin Laden. A man who the locals said looked a little like Bin Laden but stated emphatically that it was "not him". 31 U.S. troops were killed when a NATO Chinook helicopter was brought down by insurgents. Over 20 of the dead were from Navy SEAL Team 6—the unit that killed Osama bin Laden.

31 U.S. troops were killed when a NATO Chinook troop transport helicopter was downed from what seems to be a rocket-propelled grenade, according to the Washington Post.

The Post, quoting a current U.S. official, stated that seven of the dead were Afghan troops and over 20 were from SEAL Team 6—the elite team that assassinated Osama bin Laden.

Monitoring stations catch a fraction of Fukushima fallout

After Japan’s Fukushima catastrophe, Canadian government officials reassured jittery Canadians that the radioactive plume billowing from the destroyed nuclear reactors posed zero health risks in this country.

In fact, there was reason to worry. Health Canada detected massive amounts of radioactive material from Fukushima in Canadian air in March and April at monitoring stations across the country.

The level of radioactive iodine spiked above the federal maximum allowed limit in the air at four of the five sites where Health Canada monitors levels of specific radioisotopes.

On March 18, seven days after an earthquake and tsunami triggered eventual nuclear meltdowns at the Fukushima Daiichi plant in Japan, the first radioactive material wafted over the Victoria suburb of Sidney on Vancouver Island.

For 22 days, a Health Canada monitoring station in Sidney detected iodine-131 levels in the air that were 61 percent above the government’s allowable limit. In Resolute Bay, Nunavut, the levels were 3.5 times the limit.

Meanwhile, government officials claimed there was nothing to worry about. “The quantities of radioactive materials reaching Canada as a result of the Japanese nuclear incident are very small and do not pose any health risk to Canadians,” Health Canada says on its website. “The very slight increases in radiation across the country have been smaller than the normal day-to-day fluctuations from background radiation.”

In fact, Health Canada’s own data shows this isn’t true. The iodine-131 level in the air in Sidney peaked at 3.6 millibecquerels per cubic metre on March 20. That’s more than 300 times higher than the background level, which is 0.01 or fewer millibecquerels per cubic metre.

You know how you sometimes can sense that something is present even though you can’t see it? Well, astronomers are getting that feeling about a giant, hidden object in space.

And when we say giant, we mean GIANT.

They’ve found the largest planet ‘IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM’. It orbits our Sun in a far elliptical orbit, and is said to be 4x’s the size of Jupiter. It has a helium and hydrogen atmosphere. It’s most likely to have moons. This planet fits the exact description of Planet X.

So, one must ask, why are they suddenly telling us now? Scientists have known about this planet since 1983 [Read article below] and they’ve been using WISE and IRAS to monitor it. Does this mean it will be visible this year? I’m thinking so. They have no choice but to tell us as it will viewable to everyone w/o a telescope this year. There is no way to predict where these molten masses of fuel will yet go.

Especially in the event of an aftershock, steam and hydrogen explosions could blow out what's left of the containments.

The extra plutonium in the MOX fuel at Unit Three is an added liability.

At least one spent fuel pool has been on fire.

The site has already suffered at least two hydrogen explosions. Some believe a fission explosion may also have occurred.

I was compelled to reply to the recent article entitled "Where have all the good men gone?" because for the past few months, I have been asking myself the same question.

I am a man of the tribes of First Peoples (Native American) living on the border between Canada and the US. I work with broken families and focus on guidance and healing for the children. I have been married for 21-years and have a son and daughter.

In all my travels, I have realized one thing: Men are no longer 'real men' in the sense that they "no longer walk 'Upright'.

Most men I meet are weak, spineless 'pussy whipped' girlie men or 'men' who walk around being 'loud and thrusting their chests.

Upright men do not 'whine his feelings' when being corrected for distortions in his thinking or actions. He says; "Yes maybe you are right, I will be more aware in the future".

A man understands that the measure of a good lover is not how many women he makes love to, but how well he makes love with 'The One Woman'.

A man does not always need to thrust his chest and posture, in order to maintain his ego. A real man is content in his self knowing.

A man knows that the Creator gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason. That being, so men and women will listen to each other, twice as much as we speak.

A man will always walk 'upright', in the eyes of his woman and children if he is taught to respect their right to a happy life, as much as his own.

A man does not rely on other men, and their propaganda, to define who he is.

A man is self sufficient, and does not need to rely on the handouts of his 'masters', in order for his family to survive; and he contributes to his community.

A man will take an afternoon off work to be with his kids, and teach them to be as 'upright men', even if they are girls. period.

Upright men must be agile and fast of foot; to defend his family in times of trouble, and to do his daily dance.

These are just a few examples, but i think you get the thrust of it.

THE MEDIA

It is about balance I believe. The media has so twisted this western society that men believe woman will like them if they are cruel (woman like bad boys - those stupid bitches get what they asked for) or rich (often, the same thing).

And men are taught to pursue woman who are loose with their gifts (whoring is good - dumb bastards get what they deserve; right Tiger?).

This is the 'truth' of what the media teaches, from where i sit. In our remote northern communities, we had no 'cable TV' until the early 1990's. Within one year of introducing this crap into our communities child suicide rates trippled and crime rose dramatically.

So some communities have now begun 'monitoring' what is broadcast and now block web content, for the benefit of our families. These children saw those fancy cars , beautiful men and woman, riches beyond compare and then compared that to the reality of their existence, and became confused or 'lost'. We are still working to find some of them.

Maybe all 'men' in the West need to do the same.

Lose the idea that you must learn to think like a woman...you do not. Start to think like an 'Upright' man who 'honors' both feminine and masculine, and works to balance those gifts within himself first, and through empathy.

Teach the boys to respect themselves and others, as they wish to be respected; and so they and you, will be. Teach boys to listen and learn, before speaking, and teach them how to fish and hunt for crying out loud.

As opposed to teaching them to go shopping, or teaching them that men 'do' wear dresses (most do not, except on tv). Teach your son's and daughters to effectively 'defend' against 'bullies'; then say "so what" if they get expelled from school for defending themselves. They have gained 'so much more' from you; and the 'bullies' are presented with an opportunity for positive change, as well.

Teach girls that they carry many gifts given to them by the Creator, and that these gifts need to be respected; that through the healthy maintenance of these gifts, they are as powerful as the strongest man on earth. I will comment on feminism only so much as to say that this 'concept' (like any other thing in this world), when taken to an 'extreme', only serves to create imbalances in our 'circles' of self, partner, family and community. Such is the nature of taking anything to an extreme i suppose; the male dominated worlds of business and politics are good examples of this idea, and most relevant today.

Now some may say that honor, empathy and humility are just different words for 'weakness'. We say, the belief systems behind these words have allowed our peoples' to survive genocide, and now we are 'so strong in spirit' that many fear our truths'. I am not saying, 'return to the old ways'. I am suggesting that, "surely, there must be a middle ground". Like the truth about 'all' men these days.

In these days of the 'world turning over' what will you do?, you men! When the going gets tough, will you run to find a nipple suckle?, or will you once and for all...stand up.

Be well brothers and sisters. To any i may have offended and who might point fingers; i would say "remember, when you point at others, there are three fingers pointing right back at you". (try it :) I did so, before writing this.

According to the World Bank, there are 130 million people in China and 175 million people in India that are being fed with grain with water that is being pumped out of aquifers faster than it can be replaced. So what happens once all of that water is gone?

On March 19, the moon will swing around Earth more closely than it has in the past 18 years, lighting up the night sky from just 221,567 miles (356,577 kilometers) away. On top of that, it will be full. And one astrologer believes it could inflict massive damage on the planet.

Richard Nolle, a noted astrologer who runs the website astropro.com, has famously termed the upcoming full moon at lunar perigee (the closest approach during its orbit) an "extreme supermoon."

When the moon goes super-extreme, Nolle says, chaos will ensue: Huge storms, earthquakes, volcanoes and other natural disasters can be expected to wreak havoc on Earth. (It should be noted that astrology is not a real science, but merely makes connections between astronomical and mystical events.)

But do we really need to start stocking survival shelters in preparation for the supermoon? [Photos: Our Changing Moon]

The question is not actually so crazy. In fact scientists have studied related scenarios for decades. Even under normal conditions, the moon is close enough to Earth to make its weighty presence felt: It causes the ebb and flow of the ocean tides.

The moon's gravity can even cause small but measureable ebbs and flows in the continents, called "land tides" or "solid Earth tides," too. The tides are greatest during full and new moons, when the sun and moon are aligned either on the same or opposite sides of the Earth.

According to John Vidale, a seismologist at the University of Washington in Seattle and director of the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, particularly dramatic land and ocean tides do trigger earthquakes. "Both the moon and sun do stress the Earth a tiny bit, and when we look hard we can see a very small increase in tectonic activity when they're aligned," Vidale told Life's Little Mysteries, a sister site to SPACE.com.

At times of full and new moons, "you see a less-than-1-percent increase in earthquake activity, and a slightly higher response in volcanoes."

The effect of tides on seismic activity is greatest in subduction zones such as the Pacific Northwest, where one tectonic plate is sliding under another. William Wilcock, another seismologist at the University of Washington, explained: "When you have a low tide, there's less water, so the pressure on the seafloor is smaller. That pressure is clamping the fault together, so when it's not there, it makes it easier for the fault to slip."

According to Wilcock, earthquake activity in subduction zones at low tides is 10 percent higher than at other times of the day, but he hasn't observed any correlations between earthquake activity and especially low tides at new and full moons. Vidale has observed only a very small correlation.

What about during a lunar perigee? Can we expect more earthquakes and volcanic eruptions on March 19, when the full moon will be so close?

The moon's gravitational pull at lunarperigee, the scientists say, is not different enough from its pull at other times to significantly change the height of the tides and thus the likelihood of natural disasters. [Infographic: Phases of the Moon Explained]

"A lot of studies have been done on this kind of thing by USGS scientists and others," John Bellini, a geophysicist at the U.S. Geological Survey, told Life's Little Mysteries. "They haven't found anything significant at all."

Vidale concurred. "Practically speaking, you'll never see any effect of lunar perigee," he said. "It's somewhere between 'It has no effect' and 'It's so small you don't see any effect.'"

The bottom line is, the upcoming supermoon won't cause a preponderance of earthquakes, although the idea isn't a crazy one.

"Earthquakes don't respond as much to the tides as you'd think they would. There should actually be more of an effect," said Vidale.

Most natural disasters have nothing to do with the moon at all. The Earth has a lot of pent up energy, and it releases it anytime the buildup gets too great. The supermoon probably won't push it past the tipping point, but we'll know for sure, one way or the other, by March 20.

More and more seals are washing up on New Jersey beaches recently, according to reports given to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine, N.J.

There have been 26 seal strandings in New Jersey since November, sources say. Fourteen of those strandings happened in February.

While it is not unusual for seals to get stranded this time of year, there are more than usual showing up on Jersey shore beaches, according to a spokeswoman for the Brigantine center.

REDONDO BEACH (KTLA) -- Authorities say the millions of dead fish that washed up in King Harbor near Redondo Beach are not the victims of foul play.

The dead fish, mostly sardines along with anchovies and mackerel, are apparently floating up to the surface from the ocean floor.

KTLA's Sky5 captured images of the fish completely coating the water's surface in Basins 1 and 2 of the north side of King Harbor.

"All evidence points to oxygen deprivation as cause of death," says California Department of Fish and Game spokesman Andrew Hughan.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper of Canada is about to be issued a Summons by an International Tribunal to answer charges of complicity in genocide.

And the same Tribunal plans to start its own investigation into children who died in Canadian Indian residential schools, if Harper doesn't take action by March 1.

In a letter issued to Harper earlier today, the Executive of the newly-formed International Tribunal into Crimes ofChurch and State (ITCCS) accused Harper and his government of subverting justice and exonerating the churches responsible for the deaths of thousands of children in residential schools.

The letter states that if by March 1, 2011, Harper's government has not initiated criminal charges against the Catholic, Anglican and United churches and begun to repatriate the remains of the dead children, the ITCCS will dispatch its own staff of investigators to Canada.

The staff will conduct forensic investigations at alleged mass grave sites near former residential schools "in conjunction with indigenous elders and families of the victims", and will gather evidence to indict Canada for Genocide.

The ITCCS letter concludes by informing Prime Minister Harper that it intends to issue a Public Summons to him to appear before its opening session in London, England on September 12, 2011.

The Tribunal also plans to bring criminal charges against the aforementioned churches. The ITCCS has already issued a Summons to Pope Benedict, Joseph Ratzinger, to appear at the September Tribunal.

In February 1877 eight Ponca chiefs, including Standing Bear, accompanied Inspector Edward C. Kemble to the Osage Reservation to select a site. Due to lack of preparation by the agent, they did not identify a site. Angry about what he called the Ponca chiefs' "insubordination", Kemble left them to walk back north. He proceeded to prepare to remove the tribe. In April, Kemble headed south to the Quapaw Reservation near present-day Peoria, Oklahoma, with those Ponca willing to leave. In May the US Army forced the removal of the rest of the tribe, Standing Bear and his family with them.

The Ponca arrived in Oklahoma too late to plant crops that year, and the government also failed to provide them with the farming equipment promised. In 1878 they moved 150 miles west to the Salt Fork of the Arkansas River, south of present-day Ponca City, Oklahoma. By spring, nearly a third of the tribe had died due to starvation, malaria and related causes. Standing Bear's eldest son, Bear Shield, was among the dead. Standing Bear had promised to bury him in the Niobrara River valley homeland, so he left to travel north, with 65 followers.

When they reached the Omaha Reservation in Nebraska, they were welcomed as relatives. Word of their arrival in Nebraska soon reached the government. Brigadier General George Crook had them arrested for having left the reservation, under orders to do so from the Secretary of the Interior, Carl Schurz, whose department included the Bureau of Indian Affairs that oversaw the tribes.[5] Standing Bear and the others were taken to Fort Omaha, where they were detained. Although they were ordered back to Indian Territory at once, Crook was appalled by the conditions under which the Poncas were held. He delayed their return so they could rest, regain their health, and seek legal redress.

Crook told the Ponca story to Thomas Tibbles of the Omaha Daily Herald, who publicized it widely. Attorney John L. Webster offered his services pro bono, and he was joined by Andrew J. Poppleton, chief attorney of the Union Pacific Railroad, who also volunteered his services. In April 1879, Standing Bear sued for a writ of habeas corpus in U.S. District Court in Omaha, Nebraska. Acting as interpreter for Standing Bear was Susette LaFlesche, an accomplished and educated, bilingual Omaha of mixed-race background. The case is called United States ex rel. Standing Bear v. Crook. General Crook was named as the formal defendant because he was holding the Ponca under color of law.

As the trial drew to a close, Judge Dundy announced that Chief Standing Bear would be allowed to make a speech in his own behalf. Raising his right hand, Standing Bear proceeded to speak. "That hand is not the color of yours, but if I prick it, the blood will flow, and I shall feel pain," said Standing Bear. "The blood is of the same color as yours. God made me, and I am a man."

On May 12, 1879, Judge Elmer S. Dundy ruled that "an Indian is a person" within the meaning of habeas corpus He stated that the federal government had failed to show a basis under law for the Poncas' arrest and captivity.[8] Standing Bear and his followers were immediately freed. The case gained the attention of the Hayes administration, which provided for some of the tribe to return to the Niobrara valley.

Compare the above excerpt with this quote from the Times of London on the Obama administration's idea of protecting freedom.

The European Union Times reported, "Foreign Ministry reports circulating in the Kremlin today are warning that an already explosive situation in the United States is about to get a whole lot worse as a new law put forth by President Obama is said capable of seeing up to 500,000 American citizens jailed for the crime of opposing their government."

My grandfather used to say to me, "Violence never solved anything.". This struck me as a bit of an odd thing to say considering he was a decorated combat veteran of WWII. I mean, after all, violence solved the problem of Nazi aggression didn't it?
When I was 11 years old I was bullied mercilessly by a 16 year old named Joey D. After complaining to my parents and friends and receiving the standard answers from them, "He just wants to be your friend, Just ignore him and he'll stop" etc. I came to the conclusion that I was the only one who cared enough about ME to effectively deal with the problem. Joey liked to throw rocks at me, he hit me with a broom handle, heaved a cinder block at me one time (how he managed to get the thing lifted over his head with his spindly arms I'll never know), goaded his teenage delinquent buddies to throw lit matches at me and my little sister, blah-blah you get the picture.
One day in broad daylight, in the middle of our street, something snapped. I was talking to some friends and hanging out as kids do and Joey walking by, muttering his usual string of profanities, stopped in front of a softball lying at the curb, picked it up and hurled it full force at me striking me on the left temple. He laughed his ignorant dumbfuck laugh and was about to continue on his way when the tide turned forever. Quite simply I marched over and beat the living shit out of him. In front of the whole neighborhood, Joey was reduced to the scrabbling, terrified, spineless weasel we all knew him to be. Funny, the kids who were present carried me around the block on their shoulders singing at the tops of their lungs, overjoyed at the fact that someone had finally solved the problem of Joey D.
He never bothered me again. He never bothered anyone else in the neighborhood again when I was around or was even in the vicinity.
Joey was bigger, taller, meaner and a lot older than I was. The only thing that solved the problem of Joey was violence. Understand that Joey inflicted violence upon his brothers, sisters and neighbors many times before the day of reckoning. His acts slowly escalated in their frequency and potential for physical harm. Something HAD to be done.
Just as violence solved the problem of Nazi aggression in WWII, violence solved the problem of Joey D.
Now you might see where I'm going with this and say,"The Soviet Union fell non-violently." To which I would respond that the threat of violence was inherent in every act, every event that preceded the fall of the Berlin Wall. Think about it, any mass protest is infused with the potentiality of violence. When was the last time you saw a genuine public protest of any consequence NOT surrounded by riot police and barricades? What are the cops there to prevent? What would have happened to any group of police or soldiers who dared to try to stop/assault the crowds surrounding the events of 1989? The authorities knew better. The people had had enough. The police and military had had enough for that matter. Critical mass.
We in the West need to come to grips with the fact that we live in a fascist dictatorship. A very comfortable dictatorship for now I'll grant you but a dictatorship nonetheless. Don't like the sound of that one do you Apocalyptoids? According to Wikipedia: Fascists seek to organize a nation according to corporatist perspectives, values, and systems, including the political system and the economy. The merger of state and corporate power = fascism. Full stop.
Anyone who thinks for second that I am about to advocate terrorism in any form pay attention here. ANYONE WHO COMMITS RANDOM ACTS OF VIOLENCE AGAINST INNOCENT PEOPLE FOR ANY REASON, POLITICAL OR RELIGIOUS, IS A COWARD AND AN IDIOT. Clear enough? There are a variety of reasons for this; first and foremost it only perpetuates the excuses for the state to crack down on the very people it is claiming to protect, second it generates nothing but fear, the very thing oppressive governments must stripped of the power to use, third it turns the very masses who need to band together to reorganize society against one another. Fail, fail, fail. Do I even need to state that it is morally reprehensible to murder innocent people?

What am I advocating then? What would have happened if everyone in the section of the stadium above had said "No!" and physically stopped the armed thugs from arresting these people? How would a handful of jackbooted morons have reacted? How would the armed thugs of Seattle reacted if they had been swarmed by outraged citizens for murdering a man for whittling in public? What would they do if 100 people showed up outside a police station every time someone was tasered in public? What would they do if 5000 people showed up outside the headquarters of TASER Interational every time the device was used to torture someone?
Violence. Judicious application of violence is a legitimate tool in the fight against oppression. It must be used against the institutions of oppression public or private (is there a difference anymore?) for specific ends IE; the termination of the use of torture devices against unarmed citizens, the use of public money to enrich private individuals and business.

Prophecy- I can virtually guarantee this one will come true. Today. Are you ready? Okay here goes. Today, the 20th of December 2010, approximately 100 000 people will die a horrible painful death. Check back with us here at the Command center in a day or two and see if I'm right. These deaths will be mostly women and children. These deaths are 100% preventable. But we won't lift a finger to stop it from happening.
I wonder sometimes if karma is real. I'm not a Buddhist, nor do I follow any particular religion (eastern,western, mystical or other) but I would sure like to believe in a sort of universal justice. Being what many would call Native American, I would like to see the USA suffer some sort of retribution for the genocide of the Indians ( yes INDIANS as in INDIGENOUS).
I would like to see all the fat slobs of the Western world go hungry for a while instead if gorging themselves on manufactured sludgeburgers with a side of GM sodiumfries and a super-large big glub of god-knows-what sucked through a straw.
I would like to see a lot of things that I won't ever get to see in my lifetime. What I do get to see is a news report last week about a man who will be paid $100 000 000 for throwing a ball. Imagine looking someone in the eye and when they say "So what do you do for a living?" you reply "I throw a ball."

We are a wretched species sometimes. Oddly enough the folks mentioned here are not the ones I hold in the deepest contempt. No sirree. The people I really despise are the ones who happily, willingly, even gleefully support the slime who strive to perpetuate this nightmare. You know the types right? You find them at NASCAR races, football games, PTA meetings. You find 'em in the shitty part of town in Wheeling West Virginia and even the odd one with a place in the Hamptons. Yorkshire, Marseilles, Lisbon, Toronto, Sydney and Buenos Aries.
See yourself here Apocalyptoids? Not likely. You'd be busy shopping right now or maybe on your way to a Bible-study class or your local swingers club or whatever these assholes do with their time. Not sure what kind 'o peeps I'm babbling about yet?
I'll fill you in. The type of person who can't seem to find enough mind-prisons for themselves. The kind of person who believes the government has their best interests at heart. The kind of person who believes the bullshit from the politicians, the media, the church and most of all the TV. The half-wits who think that if only they had a Mcmansion a Hummer and Prada handbag life would be good. The system cannot carry on without these dumbfucks. The 'concerned citizens' that believe there really IS a difference between Liberal and Conservative, Republican and Democrat, Catholic and Protestant. Heck,Muslim and Hindu for that matter. They are everywhere. These shit-wits are the real enemy. They just keep gorging themselves on lies and deceit and beg for more. They couldn't wait to push their way into the Great Temple Of Lies and checked their brains at the door.
Back to karma. It looks as if maybe, just maybe when the economic bubble of the past few years blow apart permanently these people will finally get the karmic slap in the face they so desperately deserve. However, after a lifetime of not having a genuine thought pass through their little heads they will likely just roll over and surrender to whatever circumstances befall them. Or they will go apeshit with a gun at the local school board. Whatever they do it won't matter much, one way or another the Stasi will get 'em. Tasered, shot, rounded up or just plunked in front of a control module (television) until the old ticker stops ticking.
My guess is that giving up and waiting to die will be the most common scenario. They might think of resisting briefly, but when they hear about what happens to the resisters that idea will be quickly put to bed. You'll find many of them in a few years in a dark room with a bowl of GM Sugarsmacks half-eaten on their laps, sitting in a third rate wheelchair, staring at the tube vaguely wondering what the fuck happened. If they are lucky.
Have you figured out yet how this 100 000 people are going to die? Sure you have. Let me fill you in on a few little secrets. People don't need to starve. Not ever. There is more than enough food for all. there is plenty of fresh water for all. There is enough room on the planet for all. Do you know that if we were to give the average family of four 1700 square feet of living space (not too shabby) we could fit the entire current population of the Earth in the state of Texas? Don't get me wrong I wouldn't want to live in Texas either, too close to the Bush family for me.
1.5 trillion dollars a year on weapons.

....and ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND people will die today. From hunger.
Really? This is our world? We can't do any better than this?

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was denied bail in a British court on Tuesday and will remain behind bars until his next appearance on Dec. 14.

In handing down his decision in the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court in London, Judge Howard Riddle said he had "substantial grounds" to believe Assange would not appear for an extradition hearing.

Sweden is seeking Assange's return to face allegations of sex crimes.

Okay Apocalyptoids, lessee, lessee. What do we have going on in the big wide world these days? There are reports of global food shortages coming this winter, what with major crop failures in Canada's wheat growing areas, Australian drought, and reports of crop troubles in Russia it seems credible enough. Those of us fortunate enough to be living in First World Countries will have to dig deeper into our wallets to stay fat and happy of course but the as always the poor of our little Spaceship Earth will have to scrape by on less-than, less-than nothing. But hey! They're good at it them poor folks- so a few thousand more per day will shuffle of the mortal coil. Poor people die all the time. They'll get over it.
War? WAR? What war? Oh yeah, all over the damned place. Where to start? America seems the logical choice. Always warring on something these people. War on drugs, war on crime, war on obesity, war on the "liberal media", war on Afghanistan,Iraq (North Korea now?)war on common sense. Sorry I mischaracterized the Afghan-Iraq stuff as war. I'm sorry. "Nation Building". What a wonderful Orwellian phrase that is. Bomb the living shit out of a country, turn as much of it as you can into dust and rubble and call it 'building'. 'Liberating' is a real rib-tickler too.
So where are we going with all the warring? Nowhere, that's the point. The criminally insane cabal of psychopaths that run this planet have accomplished one of their major objectives. Perpetual war. It is what they want. We all need to get our heads around that dudes-dudettes. The Illuminaughty (sorry Rothscum but I love that word) are as likely to be a figment of the collective paranoid imagination as not but there does seem to be a kind of plan behind all of this. Whether this is some sort of as-yet unidentified evolutionary process, the human species culling itself lemming-like or some planetary shakedown or even a vast conspiracy to control the human race is almost irrelevant at this point. The process is in full swing. It is not coming, it is here, NOW.
Just to be clear, for the vast majority of all you Apocalyptoids the world is not ending. Life is going to get kinda shitty now. We'll be broke, hungry sometimes and the powers that be will send our children off to die whilst killing as many brown people as possible while they are at it. But the planet ain't gonna crack in half, Super-Jesus isn't going to kick the shit out of the bad guys and give you free health care and all-you-can-eat pizza buffets for eternity. Think of prophecies as a kind of myth projected into the future. Nothing special about this stuff. It is only a prognostication based on reading current trends and understanding human nature. "The economy will collapse" ooooh, aaaah! Big deal. Economies ALWAYS collapse. "America will fall" Did anyone really believe any nation could last forever? If you do piss-off, seriously, you're an idiot. Rome fell, Babylon fell, the Aztecs fell and on-and-on.
After watching a ton of video from this years Black Friday Idiot-Fest, I can only say fine and dandy we've got it coming. Rome's burning and the 'reg'lar folks' are killing each other over I-pads, designer handbags and half-price Cheez-Doodles. The only reason things have gotten this bad, and there is only one reason here people, is that YOU HAVE NOT BEEN PAYING ATTENTION!!!Our nations have been hijacked and our children co-opted and corrupted right out from under our noses. While secret legislation was being passed stripping you of your rights daily, you were watching Dancing with the Fuckups. While bankers were raping the economy you were watching the Packers and drooling into your plate of nachos. Your pension funds were being "invested" in collateralized debt thingies you were doing some one-handed internet "browsing".
I'm not finished bitching yet but I'm one of the lucky few that still has a job and I need to get to it. So in the interests of keeping the faithful entertained we will call this part one of Bladerunner's final rant.
