Smirking in the face of catastrophe.
I read this story on the "Kill Team" in Rolling Stone and was appalled. It's pieces of shit like this that paint our entire military in a negative light. My father was in the 82nd Airborne for 16 years & my younger brother is currently serving, both of whom are NOTHING like the savages who took part in this type of bullshit. The "Kill Team" should be punished to the fullest extent of the law... And so should the officers that turned a blind eye to everything. Naturally, the officers who were in charge of these "men" have not even been implicated & in fact, some have even been promoted. Sickening.
Short of ending war altogether (nice idea-ain't gonna happen) the best way to mitigate this shit is to bring back the draft. Nothing like an army full of accountants and art history majors to keep the rest of the animals honest.
